Kyrgyzstan and Japan signed 6 agreements

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov made his first official visit to Japan from November 17 to 20, 2023, the official information of the Press Service of the President of Kyrgyzstan says.

During the negotiations with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President of JICA Akihiko Tanaka, and representatives of several Japanese firms and companies, the parties discussed current issues related to the development and expansion of bilateral Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, including trade and economic, cultural-humanitarian, and consular-visa directions.

The following documents were signed as a result of the visit:

  • Joint Statement on Friendship and Comprehensive Partnership in a New Era between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan;
  • Agreement on the Establishment of a Visa-Free Regime for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports of the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan;
  • Agreement aimed at receiving grant assistance for the implementation of a project to equip machinery for maintaining irrigation canals;
  • Agreement between the Ministries of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan on cooperation in the legal sphere;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare;
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the "Directorate of the High-Tech Park of the Kyrgyz Republic" and the "Knowledge Capital" Association.
