Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia adopted new “road map” in bilateral relations

At the state residence "Ala-Archa" in Kyrgyzstan, negotiations took place between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit, and the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov.

President Japarov expressed confidence that the visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister to Kyrgyzstan "will leave a bright mark in the history of cooperation and friendship between the two countries."

"At present, a legal basis has been established between our countries (19 agreements), but I believe that in order to further strengthen our cooperation and meet the demands of the time, we need to develop new agreements," Japarov noted.

According to him, "in this regard, the signing of a joint statement on the comprehensive activation of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Malaysia is of great importance." "This document will serve as a 'roadmap' for the further development of Kyrgyz-Malaysian relations," believes the President of Kyrgyzstan.

"At present, trade and economic cooperation between our two countries is at an initial stage. I believe that if we combine our efforts, we will achieve better results in the future," he said.

The leaders also discussed the directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation, measures to increase and interact in all areas of mutual interest.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Bishkek on May 15 for a two-day official visit.
