Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia intend to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov has signed an order approving the draft memorandum of understanding between the two governments, 24.kg reports.

The document outlines technical collaboration in primary healthcare and medical services.

The agreement also covers joint efforts in infectious disease control, including epidemiological surveillance, contact tracing, outbreak investigations, laboratory cooperation, and health safety measures.

Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia have been developing bilateral ties across key areas since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.

In 2024, Kyrgyzstan exported organic agricultural products and aviation fuel to Malaysia, while importing goods such as mobile phones, auto parts, and coconut oil.

The two countries have also discussed cooperation in mining, tourism, development of the halal industry, and the use of renewable energy sources.

In May 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Anvar Anarbaev, presented the country’s investment and trade potential at a special event in Kuala Lumpur. He highlighted renewable energy, the agro-industrial sector, mining, tourism, and halal industry development as priority areas for collaboration.
