Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan plan to resolve border issues before the new year. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, stated this at the national development forum “Poverty and Inequality,” 24.kg reports.
He recalled that this year the delimitation of the border with Uzbekistan was fully completed.
“We are working on the assignments of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, so that before the new year we can report that border issues have been resolved,” Japarov said.
In October 2023, the heads of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed a protocol on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. According to the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, the document was signed by agreement of the two parties and provides grounds for resolving all border issues.
