Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam Increase Trade Turnover Almost 13 Times

In the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, the Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliyev, met with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh. The parties discussed issues related to expanding cooperation both at the bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as the development of Kyrgyz-Vietnamese relations. This was reported by Akchabar.kg, citing the press service of the Kyrgyz government.

Kasymaliyev noted the positive dynamics in the development of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam. From 2019 to 2024, the trade volume increased nearly 13 times.

"I propose creating a Kyrgyz-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. I also consider it important to agree upon and sign three fundamental agreements in the areas of investment promotion and protection, economic cooperation, and the avoidance of double taxation," he said.

In turn, Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the importance of strengthening political and economic dialogue between the countries, expressing readiness to support initiatives aimed at developing mutual trade and investment cooperation.

During the meeting, key areas of cooperation in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, energy, education, mining, tourism, and culture were discussed. Particular attention was given to expanding transport and logistics links.
