Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, held high-level talks in Bishkek with Nadjib Benhassine, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia. The meeting, held on September 11, focused on deepening strategic cooperation and advancing key national projects — including the landmark Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant, according to the Cabinet’s press service.
The discussions align with Kyrgyzstan’s preparations to implement its National Development Program through 2030 — an ambitious roadmap targeting a $30 billion GDP by 2030, supported by sustained growth (11.5% GDP increase in the first seven months of 2025).
To achieve this, Kyrgyzstan requires long-term financing for priority sectors: renewable energy, industrialization, agriculture, and tourism. The World Bank remains a cornerstone partner — its support is seen as vital to turning national ambitions into reality.
Kasymaliev expressed gratitude for the Bank’s longstanding partnership, emphasizing its critical role in advancing Kyrgyzstan’s green energy transition and positioning the country as a regional hub.
In response, Benhassine praised Kyrgyzstan’s “impressive economic momentum” and confirmed the World Bank’s continued commitment to funding transformative projects. He noted growing international investor interest in the country’s development trajectory.
Both sides expressed strong confidence in the future expansion and deepening of their productive partnership.
