Kyrgyzstan Becomes Georgia’s Top Export Market in Early 2025

Kyrgyzstan emerged as Georgia’s largest export market from January to August 2025, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, reports Xinhua. Exports to Kyrgyzstan totaled $943.1 million, securing the country’s top position among Georgia’s trading partners.

Kazakhstan ranked second with $572.9 million in exports, followed by Russia at $480.7 million. Together, the ten largest export partners accounted for 79.8% of Georgia’s total exports.

Key export items included passenger cars ($1.73 billion, or 38.9% of total exports), ores and concentrates of precious metals ($239.1 million), and alcoholic beverages ($172 million).

On the import side, the composition differs. Georgia sourced 71.3% of its imports from its ten main partners. The United States led with $1.8 billion, followed closely by Turkey ($1.78 billion) and China ($1.23 billion).

Passenger cars also dominated imports ($2.42 billion, or 20.5% of total imports), followed by oil and petroleum products ($846.1 million) and artworks, including handwritten paintings and pastels ($481.4 million).
