The U.S. Department of State has introduced new restrictions on the issuance of non-immigrant visas for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic this week, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Knews.kg reports.

The Kyrgyz MFA expressed concern over the fact that these measures were taken unilaterally by the American side without prior notice or coordination. “Such steps require clarification within the framework of an agreed dialogue,” the Ministry noted.

In response, Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev is scheduled to meet in the near future with U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Lesley Viguerie to discuss the newly introduced restrictions, explore possibilities for easing them, and establish preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to constructive cooperation with the United States, particularly in facilitating tourism and protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens abroad.
