In Bishkek, discussions and an exchange of views took place on various directions of further bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan during a meeting between Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov and the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of Afghanistan in Bishkek, Nurullah Amin, reports the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet.

Akylbek Japarov stated that Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing trade and economic relations with Afghanistan, establishing transport links, jointly developing Afghanistan's mineral deposits, and cooperating in the fields of energy, industry, and agriculture, actively working on promising projects.

Nurullah Amin expressed gratitude for the meeting and hoped for further cooperation.

Before the meeting, it became known that the General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan published a list of organizations banned in the country, which did not include the Taliban movement, currently the main force in Afghanistan.

Earlier in 2024, a Kyrgyz delegation, led by the Minister of Economy and Commerce, visited Afghanistan to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan officially confirmed that Bishkek removed the Taliban (under UN sanctions) from the list of banned organizations.

It was noted that Kyrgyzstan continues to support the efforts of the international community aimed at ensuring a stable and peaceful situation in Afghanistan and the region as a whole.
