In the first half of 2023, the income from hosting foreign citizens in Kyrgyzstan, according to estimates, amounted to $471.1 million. Compared to the same period in the previous year, this represents a growth of 2.1 times, Akchabar.kg reports.
During the same period, excursions brought tourism companies 1.1782 billion Kyrgyz soms, or over $13 million. This is 1.9 times more than the previous year, and resorts earned 413.1 million soms (+19% compared to the previous year).
The occupancy rates of hotels and cafes also significantly increased. The volume of services provided by hotels exceeded 1 billion soms, which is 1.3 times more than in 2022, and restaurants and other catering establishments saw a 25.2% increase, reaching 4.1 billion soms.
Transport companies also benefited from the influx of tourists. Their income from transporting tourists amounted to 3.5 billion soms, representing an 18.6% increase over the year.
