Kyrgyzstan imported 2.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in 10 months of 2022, the National Statistical Committee said its report on trade.
The main volume, more than 2 billion kilowatt-hours, came from Turkmenistan. 580.1 million kilowatt-hours were imported from Kazakhstan, Kabar reports.
Compared to the same period last year, imports from Turkmenistan increased by more than 6 times, and from Kazakhstan increased by 7%.
The cost of Kazakh electricity was 1.57 soms per 1 kilowatt. Turmensky - cost 2.47 soms per kilowatt.
Electricity was not bought from Uzbekistan this year. Last year, from January to October, the supply of Uzbek electricity amounted to 504.3 million kilowatt hours.
Uzbekistan previously exported electricity to Kyrgyzstan during the winter period.
However, this year the cold winter forced the leadership of Uzbekistan to stop all export supplies of both gas and electricity, and introduced regulation of the energy supply process.
Due to shortages, Uzbekistan is forced to buy gas and electricity from Turkmenistan in large volumes.
