Kyrgyzstan increased both imports and exports in trade with China

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Kyrgyz Autonomous Region of Kyzyl-Suu, China, Akchabar.kg reports.

The meeting, conducted as part of strengthening trade relations, aimed to discuss economic cooperation opportunities and promote domestic products in the markets of both countries.

"In recent years, trade and economic cooperation between our countries has significantly intensified," emphasized representatives of Kyrgyzstan.

During the specified period, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 27% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $1.78 billion. Import dominated during this period, amounting to $1.757 billion, marking a 27.1% increase. Kyrgyzstan's exports to China also showed growth, rising by 16.3% to reach $22.7 million.

To further strengthen this partnership, the parties discussed the need to expand the product structure and simplify trade procedures.

The Kyrgyz side presented a range of measures to stimulate investment, including reducing tax rates for domestic producers and providing incentives for investors in priority sectors.

One of the key points of the meeting was the discussion of the prospects for the development of e-commerce, which is gaining momentum both in Kyrgyzstan and China.

The achievements of Kyrgyzstan at the recently held "China-Eurasia Expo" were also highlighted during the meeting, where the Kyrgyz side presented its products and successfully concluded contracts for their export.

Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyz Autonomous Region of Kyzyl-Suu of China have common border. There live more than 150 000 ethnic Kyrgyz people.
