Kyrgyzstan insreased cross-border payments almost 3 times

The total volume of outgoing cross-border payments from Kyrgyzstan in the first six months of 2023, amounted to 5 trillion 166 billion soms in total. This is 2.7 times more than in 2022. This became known from the report of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan on the state of the payment system of the Kyrgyz Republic for the first half of the year, Economist.kg reports.

The volume of incoming payments amounted to 4 trillion 167 billion soms and increased by 2.5 times compared to the first half of last year, the report says.

Incoming payments especially increased in the second quarter of this year, the total volume amounted to 2 trillion 254 billion soms, an increase of 2.4 times compared to last year. Outgoing payments also increased by 2.7 times compared to last year and amounted to 2 trillion 966 billion soms in the second quarter.

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan noted that cross-border payments of participants in the reporting quarter were carried out most often using the SWIFT messaging channel.

At the moment, the official exchange rate of 1 US dollar is 88.27 Kyrgyz soms.
