Kyrgyzstan aims to increase trade turnover with Russia to $5 billion, Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev announced during a briefing, according to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.

During the official visit of Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov to Moscow late last week, several important negotiations took place.

As part of these meetings, a "roadmap" was approved, outlining measures to boost trade turnover to $5 billion. Additionally, both sides agreed on steps to simplify various procedures related to trade and economic cooperation, the minister said.

Amangeldiev noted that cooperation has also been strengthened in the cultural-humanitarian field and in mutual settlements, which should further enhance economic and investment ties between the two countries.

Mutually beneficial cooperation between Bishkek and Moscow is developing across all sectors, with both countries planning to expand it even further.

Trade Turnover Between Kyrgyzstan and Russia

Over the past two years, trade turnover between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation has shown positive dynamics.

- In 2022, it reached approximately $3 billion.
- In 2023, it approached $4 billion.
- The goal is to achieve $5 billion in the coming years, thanks to active cooperation and the implementation of the roadmap.

Kyrgyzstan's Exports to Russia

The main goods exported by Kyrgyzstan to Russia include:

- Textiles, clothing, and footwear
- Agricultural products (vegetables, fruits, nuts)
- Meat and dairy products
- Pharmaceuticals and chemical goods
- Mineral resources and processed metal products

Russia's Exports to Kyrgyzstan

In return, Russia exports the following to Kyrgyzstan:

- Petroleum products and natural gas
- Machinery and equipment (vehicles, industrial tools)
- Food products (grains, flour, vegetable oil)
- Fertilizers and chemical goods
- Metallurgical products (steel, aluminum)

Thus, trade and economic relations between the two countries cover a wide range of goods, fostering sustainable growth in trade and economic cooperation.
