The total amount of funds required for mitigating the effects of climate change in Kyrgyzstan is approximately $9.1 billion. This was stated by Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Nature, Meder Mashtiev, at the forum "New Economic Challenges of Long-Term Development."

Half of this sum is planned to be raised from international climate financing sources. The most costly sector is energy, which requires $6.3 billion. Of this amount, $2.2 billion will be mobilized from internal resources, while $4.1 billion will need to be attracted from external sources.

Additionally, adapting to climate change in Kyrgyzstan will require another $1.95 billion, 38% of which is also expected to come from international partners.
