Kyrgyzstan has successfully passed an audit by ICAO. According to Daniiar Bostonov, the Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency, this audit is of utmost importance because it provides Kyrgyzstan with a real chance to be removed from the European Union's blacklist, Akchabar.kg reports.

Over the course of half a year, the State Agency actively prepared for the ICAO audit. This audit is critically important for assessing the safety system and Kyrgyzstan's compliance with international aviation standards, Bostonov believes.

"To successfully pass the ICAO audit, we took all the necessary measures for analyzing and rectifying any potential issues, ensuring that our infrastructure and processes conform to international standards, and preparing the required documentation. The ICAO audit is a systematic, independent assessment and examination of the organization's activities to determine its efficiency, compliance with international standards, and to ensure transparency and reliability of its operation," Bostonov stated.

Audits are conducted worldwide to ensure aviation safety since flight safety is one of the key aspects of civil aviation. Audits aim to identify weaknesses in the safety system and suggest improvements, ultimately reducing the risks of aviation incidents. Additionally, the evaluation of civil aviation organizations is directed towards adhering to standards and recommendations set by ICAO. International audits contribute to building trust among international partners in the aviation industry.

"Based on the preliminary results of the ICAO audit conducted on the State Civil Aviation Agency of Kyrgyzstan, the agency has successfully passed, and no Significant Safety Concern (SSC) class discrepancies were identified. In other words, auditors noted that there is no direct threat to flight safety within Kyrgyzstan's civil aviation system. Previously, our country had so-called red flags (SSC), but we fulfilled all the requirements and successfully removed them. However, this time, the audit passed without any red flags (SSC), and we were able to meet all requirements without any reprimands," Bostonov emphasized.

Chairman of the Board of OJSC "MAM" Manasbek Samidinov and Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency Daniiar Bostonov awarded distinguished employees of OJSC "MAM" for their assistance in the preparation and conduct of the audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and for their significant contribution to the development of civil aviation activities. Speaking before the team, Manasbek Samidinov noted that the development of aviation in the country is a top priority for the President of the Republic, Sadyr Japarov. Therefore, there has been a colossal reform in the aviation industry of the republic.

Daniiar Bostonov also noted that four months ago, he was in Brussels, where he met with the Director for Aviation of the European Union, and the issue of removing Kyrgyzstan from the EU blacklist, which it has been on since 2006, was discussed. In Brussels, it was decided to revisit this issue after the ICAO audit. Now that Kyrgyzstan has successfully passed the audit without any Significant Safety Concerns (SSC), it has a real chance to be removed from the blacklist. The documents of the agency, as well as the results of the inspections, will now be reviewed in Brussels, and the next step will be the arrival of EU experts.
