Kyrgyzstan purchased 62 million 50 000 kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan in February, 2023. The total cost amounted to 161 million 580.7 thousand soms ($1.8 million) at 2.6 soms per 1 kWh, according to the report of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan on foreign and mutual trade.
Kyrgyzstan imported 224 million 456.2 thousand kilowatt-hours from Kazakhstan in January-February. The total cost of purchased electricity amounted to 577 million 34.4 thousand soms ($6.6 million) at 2.57 soms per 1 kWh.
In total, in the specified period, Kyrgyzstan imported 286 million 506.2 thousand kWh, which is 1.56 times less than in January-February 2022.
Earlier it was reported that Turkmenistan over the past year increased the export of electricity to foreign countries by 30% compared to 2021.
