Kyrgyzstan has successfully confirmed its compliance with international safety and quality standards in civil aviation, the press service of the Manas International Airport JSC reports.
Following an audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conducted from August 19 to 28, 2024, the country scored 85.7 points. Preliminary results indicate that Kyrgyzstan achieved an 85.76% compliance level with critical aviation safety elements, demonstrating significant progress compared to 81.43% in 2017.
As part of knowledge exchange, representatives of Manas International Airport met with colleagues from Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport. Talgat Zhaparov, the Director of Safety at Manas, shared insights gained during the ICAO audit with Kazakh specialists.
"The successful completion of the audit reflects the high professionalism of our specialists and their commitment to advancing regional aviation," stated Manas International Airport.
Kyrgyzstan has been on the European Union's aviation safety blacklist since 2006 due to regulatory deficiencies, resulting in a ban on all Kyrgyz airlines from flying to EU countries. Efforts to address these concerns and improve safety standards have been ongoing, though the process of removal from the blacklist is still in progress.
