In Kyrgyzstan, in accordance with forecast expectations, by the end of 2023, exports will be formed above the level of 2022 by 48.9%. This was reported by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

The main volume of exports, according to specialists of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, will be provided by the supply of gold, agricultural goods, manufacturing, as well as textile and clothing production.

At the same time, import deliveries are expected to remain at a high level, about 8.6% higher than in 2022.

“In the structure of imports, consumer goods and intermediate goods will also occupy the prevailing volume,” the document of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan says.

It is also expected that the supply of energy products will be below the level of the previous year, including due to a decrease in world energy prices.

According to the EDB, the trade deficit of Kyrgyzstan increased by 2.6 times in 2022 and amounted to $7.4 billion.

This was facilitated by a decrease in the value of exports by 20.5% with an increase in import costs by 1.7 times.

“The decrease in export earnings is associated with a drop in physical supplies of gold abroad, while excluding it, the figure increased by 62.3%, mainly due to supplies to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (81.7%),” the EDB report said.
