Kyrgyzstan has the potential to supply dried fruits, nuts and honey to the UK market, Zakon.kz reports.

Kyrgyzstan has been included in the new Developing Countries Trade Scheme (DCTS), said Fabian Hartwell, Trade Policy Adviser at the UK Foreign Office.

The scheme provides for tariff reductions and trade facilitation for 65 countries of the world. The scheme will begin in 2023, Hartwell said.

Under the DCTS, Kyrgyzstan is eligible for extended preferences and will continue to benefit from duty-free importation.

Fabian Hartwell said that for Kyrgyzstan, almost all exported goods are eligible for duty-free access to the UK market.
