Kyrgyzstan to hold Forum "Central Asia - EU"

Kyrgyzstan will hold the Second Summit "European Union - Central Asia". The forum will be held in Cholpon-Ata on June 2, 2023 under the chairmanship of President Sadyr Japarov, the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov and President of the European Council Charles Michel will attend the Summit,” head of the foreign policy department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Azymbakiev said.

The current state and prospects of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two regions will be discussed, and an exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda and interaction between the states of Central Asia and the European Union will take place.

In addition, President Sadyr Japarov will hold bilateral meetings with heads of delegations.

The next day, June 3, the official visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel to Kyrgyzstan will take place.

During the visit, bilateral talks with the President of Kyrgyzstan Japarov are planned. In a narrow and expanded format, the parties will discuss issues of the Kyrgyz-European partnership,” Azymbakiyev said.
