The Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Daniyar Amangeldiev, and the Director of the Office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Kyrgyzstan, Lim Soo-yeon, discussed the launch of a project to transition the state vehicle fleet of Kyrgyzstan to electric cars. The project will be financed through grant funds provided by KOICA, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan informed.
Amangeldiev emphasized the crucial importance of developing environmentally friendly transport for Kyrgyzstan as part of the country's "green" strategy. Recognizing that transportation is one of the main sources of environmental pollution and climate change globally, the government of Kyrgyzstan is actively working to promote the use of environmentally friendly vehicles.
The project "Electric Vehicles and Charging Station Network" aims to convert some state agencies and the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpochtasy" (Kyrgyz Post Service) to electric vehicles. The project also involves installing electric charging stations and adopting Korea's experience in the development of electric transport.
