In 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s state budget will surpass 1 trillion som for the first time in the country’s history, equivalent to approximately $11.4 billion at the current exchange rate. This was announced by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasmaliyev, according to Akchabar.kg.
He noted that although the consolidated budget was initially approved at 708.9 billion som, by the end of the first half of the year, it is expected to reach 1 trillion 6 billion 300 million som due to additional revenues and adjustments.
Japarov attributed this achievement to enhanced fiscal discipline, anti-corruption measures, digitalization, and strong foreign investment inflows. In 2024, foreign direct investment rose by 25%, reaching around $1.3 billion.
According to the National Statistics Committee, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP in 2024 exceeded 1.3 trillion som ($15 billion), reflecting steady economic growth.
Additional funds are being allocated for the construction of schools, hospitals, airports, the purchase of equipment for the military and emergency services, and major infrastructure projects, including the reconstruction of hydroelectric power stations and the Balykchy–Kochkor railway line. Japarov emphasized that these are significant steps forward in national development and improving citizens' quality of life.
