Kyrgyzstan's gross agricultural output reached 459.7 billion soms ($5.25 billion) in 2025, representing a real increase of 2.2% compared to the previous year. Livestock farming, which grew by 4%, contributed to the industry's positive growth. Farmers produced 476,100 tons of meat and 1.88 million tons of milk. Egg production recorded a record increase, up 18.7% to 938.4 million eggs. This increase is due to the growth of livestock and poultry, according to Economist.kg.

The situation in the agricultural sector was more complex, with overall growth amounting to only 0.2%. Farmers faced a significant drop in crop yields due to a dry spring and summer, as well as an acute shortage of irrigation water in the Chui, Talas, and Batken regions. Gross harvests of key crops declined significantly: cotton production fell by 49.2%, sugar beet by 43.7%, wheat by 26.8%, and barley by 26.5%. The total grain harvest amounted to 1.8 million tonnes, a 14.2% decrease from the previous year.

Losses in crop production were offset by increased harvests of fruits and berries, rice, vegetables, and corn. In addition, the government allocated over 11 billion soms to support the industry. The bulk of this funding was allocated through the Agricultural Financing Project 13, which covered 6,500 producers. Targeted seed production and breeding programs were also funded. In 2025, farm consolidation continued, increasing the number of cooperatives to 821 units, and the agricultural sector's contribution to the country's GDP to 8%.
