From January to August 2024, the total volume of Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade amounted to $11 billion, which is 9% more than the same period in 2023. This was stated by Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov during a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, reports Economist.kg.
According to him, the highest growth in trade in 2023 was observed in the trade of services with countries outside the CIS, increasing by 2.6 times, equivalent to $2.3 billion. Trade turnover with CIS countries also rose 1.5 times, reaching about $3 billion.
The share of services exports in 2023 accounted for 47.1% of the total foreign trade volume, amounting to $2.5 billion, reflecting an 84.4% increase compared to 2022.
“This indicates that our services are becoming increasingly in demand in the global trade market. The volume of services exports to countries outside the CIS exceeded $1 billion, which is four times more than in 2022,” Japarov concluded.
