In Kyrgyzstan, according to the results of 2023, the GDP per capita of the country reached $1969. Such data is provided by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.
During the period from 2015 to 2020, the GDP per capita demonstrated low growth - averaging 1.6%. This was due to various factors, including volatility in the financial market and moderate economic development, explained the ministry.
However, since 2021, Kyrgyzstan has been experiencing an acceleration in economic growth, leading to a significant increase in GDP per capita. From 2021 to 2023, the growth averaged 17.3%.
According to preliminary estimates, the GDP per capita in 2023 reached $1969 compared to $1350 in 2021. With the current level of economic growth, Kyrgyzstan may achieve above-average income levels by 2032, noted the ministry.
Among the CIS and Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan's GDP per capita has almost equaled that of Russia, reaching almost $13,000. This is 11 times higher than in Tajikistan, 7.1 times higher than in Kyrgyzstan, and 5.2 times higher compared to Uzbekistan.
