Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew by 419.3 billion soms from 2010 to 2020, and over the last three years, from 2021 to 2023, there was an increase of 439 billion soms, stated Akylbek Japarov, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the president's administration.
He delivered a report during a parliamentary session in Kyrgyzstan while reviewing the report on the execution of the national budget for 2022 and introducing changes to the budget for 2023, the Kyrgyz Cabinet's press service reports.
The GDP per capita in dollar terms reached $1,900 in 2023, compared to $1,665 last year, indicating an increase of $669 over the last three years. In contrast, the growth was $311 over the ten-year period from 2010 to 2020.
These figures clearly demonstrate economic growth, and according to Akylbek Japarov, "these achievements herald even more significant growth in the future, which will cover all areas of public life and significantly improve the real living standards of the population."
It was previously announced that by the end of November, Kyrgyzstan's GDP would reach 1 trillion soms. According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the country is expected to achieve a historical milestone of 1 trillion soms in nominal GDP in the third decade of November 2023, exceeding $11 billion.
Kyrgyzstan reached a GDP level of 250 billion soms in 2011. The next significant milestone was achieved in 2017 when the GDP doubled, surpassing 500 billion soms. The current year sees another doubling of the GDP, exceeding 1 trillion soms by the end of November.
