The volume of external and mutual trade of Kyrgyzstan in goods for January-May 2024 amounted to about $6.5 billion. Compared to January-May 2023, this figure increased by 18.6%, according to a report by the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, reports Economist.kg.
In particular, export deliveries increased by 4.8%, and import receipts by 21.7%.
The volume of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and the member states of the EAEU amounted to about $1.8 billion. The largest share of mutual trade during this period was with Russia - almost 73%, and Kazakhstan - more than 25%.
The volume of external trade with third countries (outside the EAEU) amounted to $4.7 billion, an increase of 27.6% compared to January-May 2023.
Meanwhile, the growth of consumer prices and tariffs in Kyrgyzstan as a whole was 2.4% compared to December of the previous year, according to the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 6.1%, non-food products by 1.8%, food products and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.5%, and tariffs for services provided to the population by 3.6%.
An increase in consumer prices compared to December of the previous year was observed in all regions of the country, except for Jalal-Abad region, where there was a decrease of 0.2%.
The highest price increase was recorded in Issyk-Kul region (3.2%), which was due to the largest increase in prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (1.3%), as well as non-food products (0.3%).
