Saudi Arabia is set to host the inaugural "Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf" summit on July 18-19. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation from Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to make an official visit to the country, Nova24.uz reports.

The summit is expected to bring together leaders from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The participants will discuss the advancement of interregional cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres, and exchange perspectives on international politics.

Furthermore, bilateral meetings among the attendees will take place alongside the summit.

On July 17, the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan held negotiations, resulting in an agreement between Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Bakhtiyor Saidov to elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level.

The first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf took place in Saudi Arabia in September 2022. During that meeting, the parties adopted a Joint Action Plan for 2023-2027, with a focus on fostering cooperation in trade, investment, education, healthcare, culture, and sports.
