The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, discussed preparations for the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reports.
An extraordinary OTS summit is scheduled for March 16 in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
The Organization of Turkic States is an interstate bloc created to expand cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries in the fields of politics, economics, science, education, transport and tourism.
The members of the organization are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye and Uzbekistan. Hungary, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are represented as observer members of the organization.
