Migrants lready transferred $1.6 bln to Kyrgyzstan in 2023

From January to October 2023, inclusive, the inflow of funds to Kyrgyzstan through remittance systems amounted to nearly $1.612 billion. During the same period, approximately $395.73 million was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries. This data was provided by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.

The primary destination for money transfers continues to be Russia. Over the nine months of 2023, $1.464 billion flowed from Russia to Kyrgyzstan, while Kyrgyz citizens transferred $324.2 million to Russia.

From countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), $129.6 million entered Kyrgyzstan, and the outflow from this direction amounted to $64.8 million.

The remaining amount in terms of inflow/outflow of funds pertains to European countries, neighboring Central Asian nations, as well as Turkey and the United States.
