Mortgage loans for 560 bln tenge issued in Kazakhstan since beginning of year

558.8 billion tenge of mortgage loans issued in Kazakhstan for 5 months of 2023. Most of these funds - 393.3 billion tenge - fall on Otbasy Bank (22.6 thousand loans), according to the portal Ranking.kz.

At the rate of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, $1 is equal to 442 tenge.

At the end of 2022, the volume of mortgage loans amounted to almost 2 trillion tenge, 1.4 trillion of which was also issued by Otbasy Bank (79.9 thousand loans).

According to the First Credit Bureau, a total of 159,000 loans were issued in the mortgage segment in 2022. This is about 34% of the total number of transactions (465.8 thousand) of the purchase and sale of residential real estate in the country.

9 out of 10 loans from Otbasy Bank today are loans within the framework of the housing construction savings system, issued outside of preferential state programs for certain segments of the population, including vulnerable ones.

Loans within the framework of housing construction savings for 5 months of 2023 amounted to 365.1 billion tenge (19.9 thousand loans). In 2022, their volume reached 1.2 trillion tenge (65.9 thousand loans)

The total portfolio of mortgage loans in Kazakhstan reached 4.8 trillion tenge by May 2023. Of these, more than 3 trillion tenge is the loan portfolio of Otbasy Bank.
