Natural gas reserves in Uzbekistan estimated at 1.8 trillion cubic meters

Natural gas reserves in Uzbekistan amount to 1 trillion 854 billion cubic meters, Uzbekneftegaz experts said, Podrobno.uz reports.

Half of these reserves, or 933 billion cubic meters of gas, come from 122 fields owned by Uzbekneftegaz. In total, 296 deposits operate in the country. Apparently, the remaining 174 deposits are being developed by foreign companies.

  • Mubarak - 305.3 billion cubic meters
  • Ustyurt - 259.4 billion cubic meters
  • "Gazli" - 191.4 billion cubic meters
  • "Shurtan" - 174.8 billion cubic meters
  • "Vodiy" - 2.3 billion cubic meters

For comparison, Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves: according to a report by the British company BP, they are estimated at almost 19.5 trillion cubic meters. However, gas production in Turkmenistan does not correspond to the existing potential. At the end of 2021, this figure amounted to 83.7 billion cubic meters.
