President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on holding the next stage of administrative reforms in Uzbekistan, Nova24.uz reports.

On December 25, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the implementation of the next stage of administrative reform for the effective operation of the executive branch.

In total, 17,447 people will be laid off in ministries and departments, almost 25% of the total staff. Including 63 deputy ministers and leaders, or 30% of the total number of deputies, will be laid off.

As a result of the reduction, 703 cars and 10 buildings will be vacated, and the budget will save 1.5 trillion soums.

The total number of employees of the state apparatus will be 56,573 people. In state institutions, it was forbidden to put additional leadership staff.

Each ministry and department of Uzbekistan should organize activities based on a completely new system, including the development of competition, solving citizens' problems, expanding the private sector, developing entrepreneurship, digitalization, energy saving and preventing corruption.

The decree notes that the divisions of strategic planning, information service, anti-corruption, international relations should implement a single policy.
