One of the previously decommissioned berths of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Kazakhstan has been put back into operation, the contractor is starting troubleshooting at the second one, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban said, Ritmeurais reports.
On August 22, 2022, CPC announced that it had temporarily decommissioned two out of three remote mooring units (TLU) at the oil loading terminal near Novorossiysk due to the discovery of problems in them, and therefore shippers' requests will be fulfilled in reduced volumes.
"Today, work has been completed in full to replace the buoyancy tank on the TLU-1 at the sea terminal of our company. All the full scope of work has been completed, the TLU has been put into operation, and at the moment the first tanker is being loaded," N. Gorban said. He noted that the duration of the repair work was due to adverse weather conditions.
“Today, the contractor is moving on to preparatory work for TLU-2 at the marine terminal. I think it is rather difficult to predict the timeframe for work due to the fact that weather conditions will dictate certain parameters to us,” the CPC General Director concluded.
According to the work plan at the CPC terminal, repairs are carried out with the involvement of the Commander multi-purpose vessel, first at TLU-1, then at TLU-
