Tajikistan and Microsoft Discuss AI Expansion and Azure Cloud Infrastructure

Sherali Kabir, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Natasha Crampton, Vice President and Chief Responsible AI Officer at Microsoft, to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Khovar.tj reports.

The Minister noted that, following the initiative of President Emomali Rahmon, a UN General Assembly Special Resolution on the development of AI in Central Asia was adopted last year. He emphasized that partnering with Microsoft plays a critical role in advancing AI technologies within Tajikistan.

A primary focus of the discussion was the implementation of hyperscale cloud infrastructure. Key topics included:

  • AI Computing: Utilizing Azure-based platforms for high-performance AI processing.
  • Data Centers: Exploring the establishment of localized data centers to support Tajikistan's digital ecosystem.
  • Technical Support: Microsoft’s readiness to provide the necessary framework for national AI initiatives.

Natasha Crampton highlighted Microsoft’s strong interest in deepening its AI partnership with Tajikistan and expressed a commitment to supporting joint technological projects.
