Turkmen historian Juma Orazklychev proved that Parthia was the first state in world history to legally fix its neutral status, according to the material of the Mir 24 TV channel. At the same time, the scientist studied almost 40 thousand pages of ancient texts, including the works of the ancient Greek writer and philosopher Plutarch, the works of the Roman historian Tacitus.
“It took me a year to work. During this time, it was necessary to obtain and process a large amount of materials. Irrefutable evidence was provided with references to primary sources that Parthia was the first state in world history to legally fix its neutral status,” said Dzhuma Orazklychev.
Parthia was located in the territories of modern Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan. In its heyday, it opposed the Roman Empire on equal terms, but, despite this, the king of Parthia, Phraates III, insisted on the neutral status of his state. In 69 B.C. together with the Roman ruler, he documented this for the first time in history.
Juma Orazklychev also noted “The fact that 2 thousand years ago our ancestors showed the world a model of a neutral state, in my opinion, is a very good internal battery for us, energy replenishment, that we are moving on the right course, which was set by our great Parthian ancestors ".
Old Nisa, the ancient residence of the Parthian kings, is located half an hour from Ashgabat. In 2007, the ancient monument was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
