President Serdar Berdimuhamedov considers the participation of Russian companies in projects for the modernization and electrification of railways and related infrastructure of Turkmenistan promising. He announced this during a meeting with Oleg Belozerov, Director General - Chairman of the Board of the Russian Railways OJSC, the official program of the Turkmen television Vatan reports.
The Turkmen President also sees good prospects for the participation of Russian Railways in the digitalization of production processes and cooperation in the training and retraining of personnel in the country, the TV company said. He also added that the results of the meetings will be an important step in expanding bilateral partnership in the field of railway transport.
In turn, Belozerov emphasized the high interest of Russian Railways in the further development of cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Russian Trade Representative in Turkmenistan Alexander Elizarov said earlier that Russian Railways will start implementing a cooperation program with the Turkmen Railways agency in 2023, TASS reported. The program is designed for 2023-2025 and involves, in particular, the participation of the Russian holding in the electrification of railways in Turkmenistan.
