The age of youth in Kazakhstan has been increased to 35 years, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Information and Social Development (MISD) of Kazakhstan.

The expansion of the stratum of the young population occurred after the adoption of the law "On Youth", which entered into force on February 28, 2023.

The Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on State Youth Policy and Social Welfare” increased the number of young people in the country from 3.7 million to 6 million.

Raising the age of young people up to 35 years gives them the full opportunity to widely use all existing measures of state support: receiving benefits for families, soft loans, participation in youth policy and more, noted in the MISD of Kazakhstan.

With the new law, a youth development index also appeared in Kazakhstan; youth temporarily unemployed (youth category NEET); youth worker; youth labor groups.
