Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali met in Dushanbe with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhammedov, who is in Tajikistan on a state visit, Avesta reports with reference to the press service of the Dushanbe City Hall.
During the conversation, confidence was expressed that the first state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan will play an important role in the development and expansion of friendly relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The parties also exchanged views on a wide range of topical issues of Tajik-Turkmen cooperation, including in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as on the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations.
Rustam Emamoli is the son of the President of Tajikistan, Emamoli Rahmon, and many predict that he will be the future head of Tajikistan. Analysts in Central Asia linked the introduced changes to the Constitution of Tajikistan with the preparation of legal grounds for his election as President of Tajikistan. Now he is 36 years old.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov is the son of the ex-president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who voluntarily resigned in 2022 and in the same year his son was elected president of Turkmenistan. Serdar is now 42 years old.
