During his visit to Bahrain, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the head of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Hassan Khalifa Al-Jalahma. The two sides discussed cooperation in the banking sector and the possibility of attracting investments, reports Economist.kg.
In particular, Sadyr Japarov proposed that Bahrain open a new Islamic commercial bank in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, the demand for such services in the country is growing, and the legal framework is already in place. He also noted that such a bank could eventually cover the entire Central Asian market, with a potential customer base of 80 million people.
Hassan Khalifa Al-Jalahma supported the idea, promised to study the proposal, and expressed readiness for cooperation. He also invited Kyrgyz specialists to undergo training in Bahrain.
The parties agreed to develop a partnership and work together on new projects.
