President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his satisfaction with the results of his visit to Kyrgyzstan, speaking to the media following the visit.
He noted several times about the beginning of a strategic partnership that relations between the two countries are reaching a new level.
“Our members of the delegation have a completely different attitude (than before), they openly agree not only on present, but also on future projects. We agreed to raise the trade turnover to $2 billion,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
We have never had such a relationship. I am completely satisfied, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The head of Uzbekistan noted that after the settlement of border issues, the border regions will move to a completely new level of relations. “The roads are open, we already have the result,” he added.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev touched upon the topic of the first National Kurultai, which was held in Kyrgyzstan on November 25-26, 2022.
“I would like to separately note the revival of the People's Kurultai, a unique gathering of the Kyrgyz people. As close neighbors, we sincerely rejoice at your achievements. And it is important for us that there is peace and stability in Kyrgyzstan, an increased mood for creation,” Mirziyoyev concluded.
Mirziyoyev's visit to Kyrgyzstan had the status of a state visit and was the first visit to Bishkek after his re-election as President of Uzbekistan in 2021. The state visit took place on January 26-27, 2023.
