President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, considers the acts of burning the Quran in several North European countries as unacceptable provocations aimed at escalating tensions in the world and undermining trust between peoples and states.

He emphasized in his statement that "the increasing incidents of religious vandalism and irresponsible behavior of citizens in the respective countries must be unanimously condemned as actions that contradict the universally recognized norms of civilized coexistence among states and religions." President Tokayev also stressed that the United Nations General Assembly should speak out on this significant issue.

The sacred book of Muslims, the Quran, was demonstratively burned in Denmark following a similar incident in Sweden.

Such actions against the Quran have triggered a storm of emotions and protests in many Muslim countries around the world.
