President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a working trip, the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues and priorities of the Kyrgyz-American bilateral cooperation.
Donald Lu's visit to Kyrgyzstan is a good sign for further cooperation between the parties, President Zhaparov said.
Zhaparov expressed hope that all the agreements reached and the planned cooperation in the field of attracting investments in the "green economy", reached during the visit of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov to Washington to participate in the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, will be implemented on time .
He focused on the fact that Kyrgyzstan is open to foreign investment, in particular for companies with advanced technologies and modern production.
“We are ready to focus on the green, digital and creative economy. We expect that in the future the creative society of Kyrgyzstan should actively enter the global creative sphere as one of the driving forces of sustainable development,” said President Sadyr Zhaparov.
In turn, US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu noted that he was again visiting Kyrgyzstan with great joy. Taking the opportunity, he also congratulated President Sadyr Zhaparov on the successful repatriation of 59 citizens of the country from northeastern Syria, noting that they are ready to continue to cooperate in this matter.
In addition, Donald Lu indicated that the American side intends to develop economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, in particular to support the digital economy, as well as to consider other areas and opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership.
