President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, in Tashkent. The meeting addressed key issues of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, Uza.uz reports.

The negotiations focused on expanding interparliamentary cooperation to oversee the practical implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May last year.

The Uzbek leader emphasized the importance of thoroughly preparing for the second session of the Interparliamentary Commission and holding it in Uzbekistan with broad participation from the regions of both countries.

The necessity of active parliamentary involvement in supporting and accelerating priority projects in trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as joint programs in labor migration and cultural-humanitarian exchange, was also highlighted.
