During talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, the two leaders reaffirmed the high level of friendship and mutual understanding between their countries and emphasized the importance of implementing previous agreements. They also discussed expanding trade, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as strengthening regional security and coordination within international organizations.

In a separate meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, both sides confirmed the strategic nature of Tajik-Kazakh relations. The leaders discussed trade expansion, industrial and energy cooperation, and the introduction of “green” technologies.

Rahmon underlined the importance of the Treaty of Alliance, which opens new opportunities for cooperation. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached $670 million in the first half of 2025, making Kazakhstan one of Tajikistan’s key economic partners.

During his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Rahmon discussed strengthening economic ties, creating joint enterprises, boosting exports, and developing transport and communication infrastructure. The two sides also highlighted cooperation in humanitarian projects and cultural initiatives.

The meetings took place on the eve of the Second “Central Asia–Russia” Summit, which opened on October 9 in Dushanbe. The summit brings together the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to discuss regional security, counterterrorism, and broader multilateral cooperation. The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of a Joint Communiqué and an Action Plan.

On October 10, Dushanbe will also host the CIS Heads of State Council, chaired by President Rahmon, where key decisions to strengthen cooperation among member states are expected.

Earlier, Tajikistan hosted a state visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which Rahmon held both private and expanded talks with the Russian delegation.

Following the discussions, the two countries signed 16 interstate and intergovernmental agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation.
