President Tokayev considers upcoming visit of Chinese leader to Kazakhstan an important event

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana met with a member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi, Kazinform reports.

During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized the exceptionally important role of Chinese diplomacy in global politics. According to him, Chinese initiatives shape the global agenda and make a significant contribution to maintaining international peace and stability. He called China a recognized leader in many areas, including production and export of goods, technological innovations, economic growth, international investments, etc.

Tokayev also highly appreciated the Kazakh-Chinese relations within international organizations, including the UN, SCO, CICA.

"Kazakhstan has been and remains a reliable partner of China. We are doing everything possible to implement the agreements that have been reached earlier. Indeed, our relations and cooperation are aimed forward - into the future," said the President of Kazakhstan.

Chinese Minister Wang Yi expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for the hospitality shown on Kazakh soil and conveyed best wishes on behalf of Chairman of China Xi Jinping.

During the meeting, the prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, energy, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as opportunities for expanding intergovernmental contacts were discussed.

In conclusion of the conversation, the Head of State conveyed warm greetings to the leader of China Xi Jinping and noted that he has high hopes for his upcoming state visit to Astana.

The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry held talks in Dushanbe before visiting Astana and met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The exact time of Chairman Xi Jinping's visit to Central Asia is not mentioned.
