On June 2, an official meeting took place in Ulaanbaatar between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.
During bilateral talks, the heads of state confirmed their interest in further developing friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia, Orient.tm reports.
The discussions focused on the results of cooperation over the past 30 years, the prospects for interaction in the coming years, and the key areas that the countries consider priorities for strengthening relations. Special emphasis was placed on the need to develop economic ties, expand trade turnover, and increase the volume of mutual trade.
The presidents noted the importance of exchanging experience and knowledge in the fields of agriculture, science, technology, transportation, and logistics. They discussed the possibility of creating new joint committees to coordinate efforts in various areas of cooperation, including the development of road transport, agriculture, veterinary services, and livestock breeding.
Particular attention was paid to educational and cultural exchanges. Both sides expressed readiness to promote cooperation between universities, expand student exchange programs, and provide scholarships for the training of young professionals. They also highlighted the importance of preparing qualified specialists, sharing experience, and organizing cultural events to bring the peoples closer and strengthen mutual understanding.
An important topic of the talks was cooperation on the international stage. The presidents confirmed their willingness to support each other's initiatives in various international organizations and emphasized the need for joint efforts on environmental protection, forest and water resource conservation, and the fight against global climate change and desertification.
Both sides expressed confidence that the agreements reached and the documents signed will serve as a foundation for further strengthening cooperation, implementing new projects and programs, and developing partnership relations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia in various fields.
