President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council at the Zagulba residence, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.

The meeting was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

“Never in history have our relations been at such a high level as today,” Mirziyoyev emphasized.

The heads of state noted the dynamic development of cooperation: a 25% increase in trade turnover, a portfolio of joint projects of $4 billion (320 billion rubles) and the work of 300 enterprises.

The parties agreed to increase annual trade turnover to $1 billion, develop a Cooperation Program and expand transport interaction, including the Middle Corridor (freight transportation has already grown by 25%). The construction of the Uzbekistan Park in Baku and cultural events for the anniversary of relations are also planned.

Following the meeting, a “road map” was adopted for the implementation of the agreements reached.
