Public hearings on the project for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan were held in the city of Taldykorgan, organized by the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan.

The discussion involved deputies at all levels, members of public councils, representatives of NGOs, energy experts, and active city residents.

Experts included representatives from the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants LLP, the National Nuclear Center, and the Institute of Nuclear Physics.

They presented plans for the development of nuclear energy in the country, with a particular focus on safety, environmental friendliness, and the economic feasibility of building the nuclear power plant.

Topics discussed included the use of modern technologies, project financing, waste disposal, and the training of personnel to work at the plant. The experts explained that advanced technologies are being considered for the construction of the plant and that the costs of its construction are offset by low operating costs and the long lifespan of the facility.

Honored veteran of Kazakhstan's energy sector, Serik Demidov, emphasized that the construction of the nuclear power plant is necessary for the stable power supply of the country, especially in the face of a growing electricity shortage.

Viktor Sychev, former head of ASPMK-519 LLP, supported this view, noting that Kazakhstan needs reliable energy sources to compensate for the deficit.

Mustafa Khusain, Chairman of the public organization 'QAZAQSTAN CHERNOBYL ARDAGERLERI,' also expressed support for the construction of the nuclear power plant, stressing the importance of developing nuclear energy for future generations.

Youth leader Erkebulan Zhakan noted that as technology advances, the demand for energy increases, and the construction of the nuclear power plant will help address this issue. The experts assured that the technologies under consideration comply with international safety standards and environmental requirements.
